From a sketch to something on a shelf

Five stages, one team, and somebody who has done each of them before standing beside you for all five. Working it out alone is how a small mistake becomes an expensive one.

Talk to us

In the order it happens. Each stage ends with what the next one needs.

Stage 1 of 5

Sampling your business idea

Turning a product concept into something you can hold. A sample is the cheapest point at which you can still change your mind about almost anything.

Validate the concept

Find out whether the thing you imagined works as an object before committing to a production run.

Benchmark against competition

Put your sample next to what is already on the shelf and judge it honestly.

Prepare for manufacturing

A refined sample is what a factory quotes against, so getting it right shortens everything after.

Minimise unit costs

Material and construction decisions made at sample stage are what set your per-unit price.

How it runs

  1. Concept development

We work through your concept with you and turn it into a specification a manufacturer can read.

  2. Product sample

We source samples from several manufacturers so you can feel the range of what is possible.

  3. Testing and iterating

We manage the back and forth with suppliers until the sample is production ready.

Stage 2 of 5

Sourcing and manufacturing

Finding manufacturing partners who can actually make your product, at a price that leaves you a business. We vet them so you are not doing it from photographs.

Vetted suppliers

We check who we are dealing with before you send anyone money.

Negotiated terms

Pricing, minimums and lead times argued on your behalf by people who do it often.

Quality oversight

Regular checks through the production run rather than a surprise at the end.

How it runs

  1. Requirements analysis

We work out what you actually need: specification, quantity, and what your budget will carry.

  2. Supplier identification

We shortlist manufacturers who match those requirements rather than whoever answers first.

  3. Vetting and negotiation

We check them properly and negotiate terms and pricing.

  4. Sample production

We coordinate a sample and review the quality before anything scales.

  5. Manufacturing

We oversee the full run with quality checks along the way.

  6. Shipping and delivery

We coordinate the logistics so it arrives when you were told it would.

Stage 3 of 5

Manufacturing and freight

Running the production line and getting the result to you. Years of doing this means the problems are mostly ones we have already seen.

Production management

Somebody watching the line who answers to you rather than to the factory.

Quality control

Checks through production, not a single inspection once it is too late to fix.

Freight and logistics

Packaging, labelling and shipping coordinated to your destination.

How it runs

  1. Production planning

Detailed plans covering timelines and the resources the run will need.

  2. Materials procurement

We source the materials and components production depends on.

  3. Production execution

We oversee manufacturing and hold it to the specification.

  4. Quality control

Comprehensive checks throughout, rather than one at the end.

  5. Packaging and shipping

Packaging, labelling and shipping coordinated to where it needs to go.

How this is priced

Per unit

Quoted per product

The product itself, plus tooling, samples, freight and duty. This is paid to the people making and moving it, and it is set by your factory rather than by us.

Supplier management

Quarterly fee

Vetting, negotiation, quality oversight and the relationship itself, for as long as you are producing. Charged by the quarter rather than as a percentage of a number nobody has agreed yet.

Both are quoted before anything starts. A thousand units of one product costs nothing like a thousand of another, so a fixed tier would only ever be a guess.

Stage 4 of 5

Product shots

Photography that makes the product look like what it is. Most listings lose the sale in the first image.

Studio product shots

Clean, well-lit images from the angles a buyer actually wants to see.

Detail and texture

Close work on the parts that justify the price.

Video

Short promotional video where the product needs motion to make sense.

How it runs

  1. Consultation

We talk through your brand, the product and what the images have to do.

  2. Creative direction

We plan the shoot around that rather than defaulting to a white background.

  3. Professional shoot

Our photographers shoot it with proper lighting and composition.

  4. Editing and delivery

We edit and optimise, then hand over files ready to use.

Stage 5 of 5

Strategic marketing launch plan

A launch plan built from research into your actual market, rather than a template with your product name pasted into it.

Market research

Who is buying, what they already use, and what it costs to reach them.

Channel strategy

Where to spend, in what order, and what to ignore.

Launch content

The campaign and content the plan depends on, made rather than described.

How it runs

  1. Research and analysis

We research your market, audience and competitors to build a foundation.

  2. Strategy development

We write a strategy aligned to what the business actually needs.

  3. Campaign creation

We develop the campaigns and content for your audience.

  4. Implementation

We run the plan across the chosen channels.

  5. Analysis and optimisation

We track what happens and adjust rather than declaring victory.
